Tasks - Active Directory Server
Problem
Are users getting impatient because response time to access certain directories (Open LDAP, Novell eDirectory, Sun Java System Directory) is slow?
Solution
Use Chroniker’s Task Monitor to see the response time it takes to retrieve results from a Directory
Create an Active Directory Task
Creating an Active Directory Task involves the following steps:
- Define an Active Directory Task
- Define Alerts

- Apply Events to Mail Server Task
Define an Active Directory Task
Click on Tools > Add New Monitor > Active Directory Task:

Summary
You have created a Active Directory Task that will send an e-mail when the event threshold you’ve set is exceeded. It is recommended that you create as many reactions and events as you need to monitor your systems and networks efficiently.
If you find that you are receiving e-mails constantly, edit the event’s threshold accordingly. Or make changes to the Active Directory so that it does operate under desired thresholds
Now that you have a basic Active Directory test setup you can graph, report and monitor the data you are collecting. You may also edit the appropriate scenario and or task to include profiles and other options.
