1. Adding a Node by Auto Discovery:
Click on the Add node button, then Click on Auto Discovery to quickly search your network for available Nodes. (Nodes can also be added individually or import via CSV file)



2. IP Range:
Input an IP Range, Click on Add/Delete ports to define the ports in your environment,, and then Select which ports Chroniker will scan this time when performing the Auto Discovery. (Do not specify an IP range that exceeds your actual environment)


3. Selecting Nodes to Monitor & Assign Groups
Check off the nodes to monitor and assign them a group from the drop down menu. Once you are finished click start, Chroniker will ask you to optimize, (this is important, so click OK.)


4. Overview

Here we can see an over view of our current and overall status.  Easily click on a node to see graphs and summaries. You can even edit single nodes or view certain groups from this screen.



5. Node Management:

Manage multiple nodes at once, change their group, group type, and dependencies with a few clicks.



6. Groups
Chroniker comes with pre defined groups such as, Check 1min, Check 5min, Check 10min, and Check 15 min. If you want to organize your nodes with more structure simply click groups', then click Add New Group and fill out the fields


7. Profiles
Profiles are use to set schedules for Chroniker’s monitoring; allow for maintenance, upgrades, etc. Chroniker comes with four pre defined profiles, Weekdays, Weekends, Business Hours and 24/7


8. Events
An Event is primarily defined by its event (alert) level: Chroniker has four pre defined event levels to choose from: Down, Error, Warning or Information. Additional Events can be easily added by clicking on the Add New Event Button. Other important parameters in an event definition are thresholds and reactions.

 

9. Reactions
Reactions are initiated when the tasks’ thresholds are exceeded.  By default Chroniker sets up an E-mail reaction. Other reactions include, Numerical Pages, SNMP Traps and Custom are available.
