What are Services
Logical grouping of metrics (defined by you). Services can also be comprised of other services. Alerts can be set on any level of service or metric.
Services provide a top down view of mission-critical business systems and applications by integrating information gathered from various underlying systems in both real-time and historical context. One of the key components of Services is the use of Dashboards which organize and present information in a way that is easy to read and understand.
Dashboards reflect the health of a specific business system, application, or process and can be created for each division in your organization such as marketing, finance, human resources, or development to show the performance and availability of systems that support each division. Others may find it more useful to create Dashboards by Regions such as Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago. In many cases, users may find it best to create dashboards by mission critical applications such as E-commerce, CRM system, Reporting Environment, etc.
Executives can view custom dashboards that convey the health of mission-critical business applications. Managers can view dashboards that reflect the health of the entire network, while administrators can view dashboards that show only the systems they are specifically responsible for.
